ABOUT THE ARTIST

A Memphis-based artist, Bret Terwilleger has been a creator of art for his entire life. For the last 30 years he was Principle and Creative Director at one of Memphis's largest communication design firms. In those years he was instrumental in creating brands for some of the largest corporations in the world: FedEx, International Paper, First Tennessee Bank, Maybelline and Holiday Inn, to name a few. While he painted during those years, he is now able to devote his full attention to creating art in his retirement.

Bret's painting style is abstract and at times landscape in perception, using several mediums to create with, including acrylic, latex, caulk, graphite, oil pastels. He is not afraid of experimentation and will use anything to achieve the desired outcome. His creative expressions are not only confined to paint as seen in the sculpture Community located in Memphis TN.

Bret has a deep belief in the power and meaning of art and strives for each piece he creates to hold true to that belief.
